What makes GTR 3 different?

What I'd like to know and Simbin aren't telling anyone is what sets THIS game apart from past GTR games and apart from other current next-gen sims? They keep showing screenshots and sound samples, but really who cares? Of course a newer game will look and sound better-

Hey Simbin- what makes GTR3 different? If they can answer that, then maybe I'll buy it, but not if it's the same ole' same ole'.

What if there is no FIA GT content in GTR3?

The previous GTR games were always based on real FIA GT seasons (2003 & 2004). With SHIFT 2 already having licensed FIA GT1 content from the 2010 season and the current real FIA GT1 season being a bit of joke content wise I don't know anymore what to expect in the game.

If there is no world championship licensed content availabe what series would you like to have in the game?

This topic could go on forever for me so I'll stick with the main ones:

  • Night Racing of Course
  • Longer Races
  • Fully functional safety car
  • Skin Saving Option so when you are online and someone has a skin, you have a choice to save it to your game forever
  • Wider choice of race options like complete rearrnage of the grid for second race, Choice of 3 races, choice of shorter first race then longer second race etc. etc.
  • Better championship options for offline championships...

I'm playing Race Pro at the moment and I'm hoping for more Simbin on the 360. I can tell it was just a quick port just to see if there was interest, but I think it's obvious that people were put off by how dated it was, not by the content or gameplay. After all the disappointment of the console racers recently (Shift, GT5, Forza, Grid), I'm sure the Simbin style would be well received if it looked decent and cleaner than RP. Even the controller works really well, it's precise and responsive....

One of the things I have been missing in racing sims is the ability to walk around the pit, paddock, wherever and move objects around (tools, wrenches, other people :D etc).

Since GTR3 is now being developed with the Unreal engine and most major shooters use this engine as well. Will this now finally be the time that simulated motorsports goes to the next level?

Things I really want to see in GTR 3

Well these kinds of threads never get boring so why the devil not eh?

Things I would really love to see in the new GTR game (in no particular order):
  • Full series licence - all the cars, all the tracks, all the rules.
  • Proper race weekend schedule (opportunity to set multiple practice sessions to my desired length, quali and race rules etc).
  • Day to night transition.
  • Dynamic weather.
  • Weight penalties (if applicable)
  • Reverse grids / 2 or 3 race formats (again if...

Apart from the question of what will ship with the game, maybe more important is if they are going to allow modding of the game so that people with the talent can add series if they so wish.
DTM GT3 GT4 Blancpain would be good starters to ship with the game

....I will be one happy boy!

I bought GTR2 on steam yesterday and had a mission trying to get it working, but after a number of re-installs and tinkering I finally got it running. My god what a sim this was.

I haven't played for nearly 10 years and it is still better than anything I have played since. Granted I still haven't had a go on AC or PCars yet but I have not had as much fun as I have just now racing 2005 GT cars at Monza.

In my opinion you can't beat a fully licensed game with...

Just seen on another sim site, GTR 3 will definitely be released sometime in the 4th Quarter of 2030, LMAO !!!!! I'll be dead & buried before this ever gets released. Would have loved to see & play this game, even on my old antique PC before I die. Odds are I'll win the lottery before this is released. It must be an Epic game to take this long. Meanwhile, I'll wait for AMS 2. Sorry, just had to vent my frustrations out.

I think if Simbin delays this title any longer, they're best off building against the newer consoles. While some of you claim GTR 3 is vaporware, Kunos really let me down with ACC so there has to be something else out there that's better. I've always liked WEC more than GT3 anyway.

When the RACE series came out there was a lot of complaining about Steam. Previous titles as GTR, GT Legends and GTR 2 were sold mainly via stores as a boxed version. After some time the storm passed and people saw that Steam wasn't so bad afterall (especially easy reinstalling) with exception of the very slow loading of the game compared to titles such as DiRT2 that fire up in a second.
